What is injection molding: the process of making plastic products from plastic raw materials using injection molding machines and molds is called injection molding.


The plastic raw materials are dried, fed into the barrel, heated and molten. Driven by the screw or piston, they are injected into the closed cavity through the nozzle and the glue feeding system. After cooling, they are hardened and shaped The tool used in this forming process is called an injection mold.


Injection mold consists of seven systems: one; Pouring system, temperature control system, forming part system, cooling system, ejection system, exhaust system and core pulling system.



1; gating system


The pouring system of plastic mold refers to the flow channel before the plastic enters the mold cavity from the nozzle, including the main flow channel, cold material cavity, shunt channel and gate. (currently the most commonly used hot runner system)


2: Temperature control system


Temperature regulation system: in order to meet the requirements of injection process for mold temperature, a temperature regulation system is required to regulate the mold temperature. For the injection mold for thermoplastic, the cooling system is mainly designed to cool the mold (the mold can also be heated). The common method of mold cooling is to set up a cooling water channel in the mold, and use the circulating cooling water to take away the heat of the mold; In addition to using cooling water to supply hot water or hot oil, electric heating elements can also be installed inside and around the mold.


3: Formed part system


Formed part system: refers to the various parts combinations that form the shape of the product, including moving die core, moving die insert, fixed die core, fixed die insert, etc.


Under the normal condition of fixed mold, the outer surface of formed product; under the normal condition of moving mold, the inner surface of formed product.


The fixed and moving mold kernels are combined to form a cavity, and then the plastic flows into the cavity through the rear flow injection system. After cooling, the fixed and moving mold kernels are opened, which is the required product.

IV; Cooling system



In order to meet the requirements of injection process for mold temperature, a temperature regulating system is needed to regulate the mold temperature. For the injection mold for thermoplastic, the cooling system is mainly designed to cool the mold, and the mold can also be heated. (extreme cold and extreme heat technology is applied to the mold)


V; Ejection system


The ejector system of plastic mold generally consists of ejector pin, front and rear ejector pin plates, ejector pin guide rod, ejector pin return spring, locking screw of ejector pin plate, etc. After the product is molded and cooled in the mold, the front and rear molds of the mold are separated and opened, and the ejector pin, driven by the ejector rod of the injection molding machine, pushes the plastic product and its condensate in the flow channel out of the mold cavity and the flow channel position, so as to carry out the next injection molding work cycle. (secondary ejection and in mold hot cutting technology)


VI; exhaust system


The plastic mold exhaust system is set up to exhaust the air in the medium-sized cavity and the gas generated by the melting of plastic from the mold during the injection molding process. When the exhaust is not smooth, the product surface will form gas marks (gas lines), scorch and other defects; The exhaust system of the plastic mold is usually a groove shaped air outlet opened in the mold to discharge the air in the original mold cavity and the gas brought in by the molten material. (mold vacuum forming)


VII; Core pulling system


If there are concave convex holes or bosses on the lateral side of the plastic part, it needs lateral punch or core to form. Before the plastic part is pushed out, the lateral punch or lateral core must be pulled out first, and then it can be pulled out smoothly. The mechanism that moves the lateral punch or lateral core is called the lateral core pulling mechanism.
